Claude connector

Book direct, from a conversation

The RentalCal connector lets Claude check a vacation rental's details, availability and price, then hands the guest the host's own booking page.

What it does

Ask Claude about a property that takes bookings through RentalCal. Claude can look up the listing, see which dates are open, and price a stay. To book, the guest follows the link to the host's booking page and finishes there.

The connector is read-only. It cannot book, take payment, or change anything. Its tools return only what the host already shows on their public booking page, and nothing about the host's or other guests' accounts.

Connect it

In Claude (web or desktop): add RentalCal from the Connectors directory, or go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and enter:

https://api.rentalcal.com/mcp

Choose No sign-in. There is no account or API key. Then turn RentalCal on from the tools menu in a chat.

In Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http rentalcal https://api.rentalcal.com/mcp

Tools

  • Find a RentalCal property find_property

Looks up a rental by its RentalCal site (beach-house.rentalcal.com, a full URL, or just the site name), by the host's own domain, or by the page on the host's website where their RentalCal booking widget is installed. Returns the listing and its property id. If one website has several properties, it returns the choices.

  • Get property details get_property

The full listing for a property: description, location, check-in and check-out times, capacity, pets, amenities, house rules, photos, nightly pricing and fees, cancellation policy, payment schedule, damage deposit, and the host's FAQ.

  • Check availability check_availability

Booked nights and the open date ranges a stay can be booked in, with minimum-stay rules applied. Covers the next 90 days by default, up to 365 days per call.

  • Price a stay get_quote

The exact price for given dates, guests and pets: nightly rates, discounts, fees, taxes and total, plus any damage deposit the host requires. Includes a link to the host's booking page with the stay filled in. If the stay is not allowed, it says why.

Try asking

  • “Is beach-house.rentalcal.com available Nov 14–16 for 2 guests? How much?”
  • “What are the house rules and check-in time at beach-house.rentalcal.com?”
  • “Find the cheapest 3-night stay at beach-house.rentalcal.com in December for 4 people.”

Limits

  • Claude needs the property's RentalCal site, the host's own domain, or the page with the booking widget on it.
  • Searching across all RentalCal properties is not available yet.
  • Bookings are finished on the host's booking page, not in the chat.

Privacy and support

The connector needs no sign-in and never asks who you are. See the Privacy Policy for how RentalCal handles data.
