1. Pages we host for property owners

Link-in-bio pages (RentalCal Link) and offer pages at www.rentalcal.com. These set no cookies and load no analytics or advertising of any kind, which is why they show no cookie notice.

rc_visitor · Local storage

A random identifier, used to count a visitor once a day and to limit automated abuse of signup forms. Not linked to your name, email or other websites. Not created for counting if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Kept: Replaced with a new one after 12 months, or sooner if you clear your browser storage. Our servers delete their copy within two days.

2. Our marketing website (www.rentalcal.com)

In the European Economic Area (including the EU's outermost regions), the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Switzerland and Quebec (or if we cannot tell where you are), Google Analytics is off until you choose Accept in the cookie notice. Elsewhere it is on unless you turn it off. Anyone can change their choice from “Your privacy choices” at the bottom of any page here, or with the button under “Your choices” below.

Remembers whether you allowed or turned off analytics. Set only once you make a choice.

Kept: If you allowed analytics, 12 months, then we ask again. If you turned it off, until you change your choice or clear your browser storage.

_ga, _ga_* · Cookies (Google Analytics)

Only while analytics is on for you (see above). Tells us which pages are visited, so we can see what helps hosts find us. Google signals and ad personalization are switched off, so this data is not used for advertising. Deleted if you turn analytics off.

Kept: Up to 2 years.

3. The dashboard (app.rentalcal.com)

The sign-in, signup and settings items are needed for the dashboard to work. Analytics is optional and follows the same rules as the marketing website: in the European Economic Area (including the EU's outermost regions), the UK, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Switzerland and Quebec (or if we cannot tell where you are) it is off until you choose Accept, and elsewhere it is on unless you turn it off. Change it from Settings in the dashboard. Your choice there is kept separately from your choice on the marketing website.

Sign-in session · Cookies, local and session storage

Keeps you signed in, for both email and Google sign-in, including two-factor authentication and showing your backup codes once.

Kept: Until you sign out or the session expires. Backup codes: until the tab is closed.

Signup and invitation details · Local and session storage

Carries your answers (terms accepted, email preference, a pending team invitation, or that you were connecting the browser extension) across the sign-in redirect.

Kept: Until signup completes or the tab is closed.

Dismissed prompts · Local storage

Remembers that you closed the onboarding checklist or the notifications prompt, so they do not come back.

Kept: Until you clear your browser storage.

stale-deploy-reload-ts · Session storage

Reloads the page once when we have released a new version, so you are not left on a broken one.

Kept: Until the tab is closed.

rc_consent · Local storage

Remembers whether you allowed or turned off analytics in the dashboard. Set only once you make a choice.

ph_* (PostHog) · Local and session storage

Optional analytics, only while it is on for you. Records which features are used and may record your session with all text and form inputs masked, so we can see where the dashboard is confusing. Once you sign in it is linked to your account email. Data is sent to PostHog in the United States.

Kept: Until you turn analytics off (which removes it) or clear your browser storage.

Error monitoring (Sentry) · Session storage

Error reports, and performance timings for a sample of page loads, are always sent and keep nothing in your browser. Only while analytics is on, Sentry may also record a replay of a session in which an error occurred, with all text masked and all images blocked.

Kept: Until the tab is closed.

4. The booking widget and guest chat

These run on a property owner’s own website, on booking sites, and on link-in-bio pages.

Notes that the booking widget has told RentalCal which page of the owner’s website it is on, so it does so once per visit rather than on every page. Holds that page’s address and nothing about you. Payment, when required, happens on Stripe’s own pages, which set Stripe’s cookies under Stripe’s policy.

rentalcal-chat*, rentalcal-visitor · Local and session storage

Only if you use the chat. Lets you return to your conversation with the host, remembers whether the chat window is open and what you have read, and limits automated abuse.

Kept: Until you clear your browser storage.

5. Booking sites (*.rentalcal.com)

Property websites built with RentalCal set no cookies and load no analytics or advertising of any kind.

Visit counts · Nothing stored in your browser

Visits are counted with a code worked out from general browser details (such as screen size and time zone). It changes every day, cannot be turned back into those details, and does not tell us who you are. Not used if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Kept: The code changes daily.

Reloads the page once if the site was updated while you had it open.

Kept: Until the tab is closed.

6. Your choices

• Allow or turn off analytics on our marketing website at any time from "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of any page, or here: Your privacy choices.
• Allow or turn off analytics in the dashboard from Settings.
• Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. We treat either as turning analytics off everywhere, and we do not count your visits to pages we host or to booking sites.
• Clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Pages we host for property owners keep working. The dashboard needs its sign-in session to work.
