Booking widget on Wix
Wix shows the widget inside an Embed HTML box. It works and takes bookings. The box is a frame, so give it enough height.
Wix puts embedded code in its own frame. The widget works and payment opens on top of your page, but promo links need data-promo on the embed instead of ?promo= in the address. RentalCal cannot confirm a Wix page on the Widget tab yet, because the check reads your page's HTML and the code lives in Wix's frame. Bookings work regardless.
The snippet
<div id="rentalcal-widget" data-property-id="YOUR_PROPERTY_ID"></div> <script src="https://widget.rentalcal.com/widget.js" async></script>
Replace YOUR_PROPERTY_ID with your property's id. It is on the property's Widget tab in your dashboard, where the snippet is already filled in and ready to copy.
Steps
In the editor choose Add, then Embed Code, then Embed HTML, and place the box where the booking card belongs.
Paste the embed code into the box and make the box tall (around 700 pixels) so the calendar is not cut off.
Publish, then open the page and check the card loads and shows your dates.
If something looks off
- Make the embed box at least 700 pixels tall. The widget cannot grow the box, so a short one cuts the calendar off.
- Promo links: use data-promo="CODE" on the embed instead of ?promo=CODE in the page address. The widget cannot read the page's address from inside Wix's frame.
- Payment opens on top of your page, not inside the box. That is expected.
