Booking widget on WordPress

Any WordPress site can show the booking widget with a Custom HTML block. No plugin to install, nothing to configure in WordPress.

The snippet

<div id="rentalcal-widget" data-property-id="YOUR_PROPERTY_ID"></div>
<script src="https://widget.rentalcal.com/widget.js" async></script>

Replace YOUR_PROPERTY_ID with your property's id. It is on the property's Widget tab in your dashboard, where the snippet is already filled in and ready to copy.

Steps

  1. Edit the page where guests should book and add a Custom HTML block where the booking card belongs.

  2. Paste the embed code into the block.

  3. Click Update (or Publish) and open the page to see the card.

  4. Paste the page's address on the property's Widget tab to confirm the install.

Self-hosted WordPress always allows Custom HTML. On WordPress.com it depends on the plan; if the block is missing or stripped, that is why.

If something looks off

  • If the block editor strips the code when you save, your WordPress.com plan does not allow custom HTML. Self-hosted WordPress always does.
  • Page builders such as Elementor and Divi have their own HTML or Code element; paste the same code there.
  • Caching plugins can hold an old copy of the page. Clear the cache if the card does not appear after publishing.

Confirming the install

Once the page is live, paste its address on the property's Widget tab. RentalCal opens the page, finds the embed code and marks the widget confirmed. Booking assistants can then find the property by that address too.
